at the start of the period, we had to get into our groups then we got given a storyboard paper that's when we had to start drawing our character and what is happening the story. When we were finished with our storyboards we had to give our storyboard to another group to look at and give feedback for next time here is a picture of what my group's storyboard looks like.
I am a student at in Uru Mānuka. In 2020 I was a year 9 and in 2021 I will be a year 10. This is a place where I will be able to share my learning with you. Please note....some work won't be edited - just my first drafts, so there may be some surface errors. I would love your feedback, comments, thoughts and ideas.

Art
The advice that we were from the teacher that we were passed to draw pictures of our story and we had to write a little paragraph on the bottom of our picture so when people look at it they know what is happening in the story so they don't have to. Come up and say what is happening in this scene because I'm trouble with this I don't know what happens.

Skittles
Aim: To separate colors from skittles by using chromatography.
Materials;Aim: To separate colors from skittles by using chromatography.
2. Petri dish
3. Water
Process:
Step 1: Get the skittles in the petri dish
Step 2: Tip the water in the petri dish
Step 3: wait for the skittles
Conclusion: What have I learned from this
In science Today we put skittles in a container this container is called a petri dish don't know why. So we put the water in with the skittles in the petri dish and it made a rainbow type thing it look cool my favorite thing was that we got to eat it after yay. first, our teacher gave us a container called petri dish with skittles in it then he went around putting water in the containers after a while it turned in to a rainbow here is pictures below.

Aim: To separate colors by using the process of chromatography.
Definition: Chromatography is a method of separating out materials from a mixture.
Eg. blood, ink, drugs,
Scenario
Scenario
A crime has been committed. The police have a signed cheque and a letter from the same crime scene but it seems like the handwriting is different. They have 3 suspects but not enough evidence. They need to know if the letter and the cheque were written by the same person.
How do they tell if the pens used for both of these pieces of evidence are the same?

Rainbow paper
Materials;
1. Cup
2. chromatography
3. felt tip pens
4. water
Process:
Step 1: Copy and paste Mr palmers blog post about colors
Step 2: Get a cup and the chromatography paper and two felts
Step 3: Put to dot on the chromatography paper
Step 4: Put the chromatography paper into the cup full of hot boiling water
Step 5: Wait for ten minutes for the water to be soaked, After ten minutes you start to see the paper start to change because of the water
Step 6:
Conclusion: What have I learned from this experiment?
In science, we were putting dots on paper but we could only use felt pens because it would make the water change color. We didn't use normal paper we were using chromatography paper after you put a dot on the paper you have to put it in a cup full of hot water. don't fill it too high or it won't work here are some pictures of them when we put it in and after we took it out.Thursday, 4 April 2019

C.I.P
Today in the morning I and a group of people went outside to the compost and we were raking the dirt and other things into one spot there were some people who pick up rubbish we already did this early but we had to do it again because when it was raining last night the rain made the compost come down and it went out like it spread out that's why we were raking all of it in to a pile so we can put our fruit scraps in it.

- Element; A single form of a chemical
- Compound: A mixture made up of 2 or more elements
- Reaction: A process in which chemicals mix together to form a new substance.
- Mixture: When two or more elements are mixed together.
Equipment:
- Lemon juice
- salt
- sugar
- Vinegar
- Lemonade
- Onion gas
- Baking soda
- milk
- Cornflour
- Banana
Steps:
1.researsh the name up
2. Then put next to it an acid name
1.researsh the name up
2. Then put next to it an acid name
3. after that put it in the chemicals column
4. then put an image
Repeat the steps for all the chemicals.
4. then put an image
Repeat the steps for all the chemicals.
Task 1: Put the 10 chemicals in a chart with the titles - Name, Chemical ingredient(s), Image, Solid/Liquid/Gas.
